The American Legion High School Oratorical Program (Grades 9 - 12): (Deadline December 4, 2019)

NOW is the time to consider participating in the American Legion (AL) Oratorical Contest, a Constitutional Speech competition. The Vermont Department winner receives $1000 award. National winner, top 3, receive scholarships of $20,000, $17,000 and $15,000 respectively. All other national participants receive $2000 - $4000. Vermont/United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship: (Deadline January 17, 2020)

Any student who applies for this scholarship will see the scholarships first go to the state organization. Each state organization decide which two applications get forwarded for national judging. Each year, the U.S. JCI Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The Vermont JCI Senate will award $500 grants to each of the two student applicants submitted to the US JCI Senate Foundation for national judging. This year they will also grant one $500 scholarship based strictly on need. For more information go to www.usjcisenatefoundation.org


Elks National Foundation Scholarships:

  • Emergency Educational Grants: Children of deceased or totally disabled Elks members are eligible to apply The Elks member must have been in good standing for at least one year at the time of death or disability.   • Most Valuable Student Scholarship: (Deadline November 15, 2019) Must be a high school senior and related to an Elks member. Five hundred scholarships are awarded for four years. Visit enf.elks.org/mvs for more information.
  • Legacy Awards: (Deadline February 1, 2020) These are $4000 scholarships offered to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Visit enf.elks.org/leg for more information.
  • Roger J. Sheridan Memorial Scholarship: (Deadline February 1, 2020) Seniors of a high school with plans to enter college to undertake a career in Physical Education, Physical Therapy, Athletic Trainer, Sports Medicine or Sports Science may enter this competition. Two scholarships will be awarded annually, one each to a boy and a girl. The amount will be determined by the trustees of the scholarship but will be in excess of $500.00. Applications are available in the counseling office.
  • BPOE #916 Scholarship Program: (Deadline March 31, 2020) Provides financial assistance to children and grandchildren of local Elk members. Scholarships are available to children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren and legal wards of local Elks. Member must be in good standing. Applications are available in the counseling office.


Knights of Columbus Vermont State Council: (Deadline March 10, 2020) - Five $1,000 scholarships awarded

To qualify you must be a son or daughter of a Knight of Columbus member (paternal or legally adopted) in good standing in a subordinate Council within the Vermont jurisdiction. Sons or daughters of deceased members are also eligible if their father was in good standing at the time of his death. More information and applications are available in the guidance office.


Vermont American Legion Scholarships Program: (Deadline April 1, 2020)

The American Legion offers several scholarship programs including the Department Commanders Scholarship ($1,000), the Department of Vermont Scholarship ($1,500), and ten individual $500 Scholarships. Applications and information can be found at the Vermont American Legion Website.


VT EPSCoR Native American and First Generation Student Scholarships: (Deadline April 1, 2020) - $5,000

Offered to Native American and First Generation students who are entering, or have declared, a STEM major at a Vermont College or University. Visit our website for more information.


WALTER S. BURNHAM COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP/AWARD: (Deadline March 15, 2020) A $500 award offered to juniors and seniors who have given community service to the Town of Lincoln. Applications available at the Lincoln Library, Lincoln Town Clerk office, or online at http://lincolnvermont.org


Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund: Deadline (Early April 3, 2020 @ noon - Regular May 1, 2020 @ noon)

This scholarship offers renewable, four year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, the community or at home), a strong work ethic demonstrated by part time employment while in school, grit and passion for overcoming obstacles and/or achieving future goals, and leadership qualities. National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program: (Deadline January 15, 2015)

Vermont NEA Maida Townsend Scholarship: (Deadline February 26, 2016)

AIA Vermont Scholar Promise Award: (Deadline June 1, 2016) Two $500 Awards

The American Institute of Architects, Vermont Chapter will award two scholarships this year for graduating Vermont high school students who have been accepted to an accredited Architecture or Architectural Engineering Program anywhere in the U.S. Visit http://www.aiavt.org/resources/ for more information and an application.


St. Andrew's Society of Vermont Scholarship Program: (Deadline February 23, 2018)

Three $1,000 scholarships for Vermont residents or from St. Andrews's Society of Vermont members and their family regardless of residency, and plan to enroll in an associate's or bachelor's degree program in the coming fall semester. Journalism Education Foundation of New England: (Deadline March 3, 2017)

Will award a number of $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in journalism. Interested students can download the scholarship application from the New England Newspaper and Press Association website.


Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship: (Deadline March 6, 2017)

Presented by Hood Milk, the Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship will award three $5000 scholarships to students in each of the New England states. Criteria include status as a high school senior, participation in a varsity sport, plan on attending a two or four year accredited college, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and performed volunteer work in the community. OMYA Scholarship Program: (Deadline March 20, 2017)

OMYA will award four $2500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors planning to study in the field of science or engineering as it applies to the field of industrial manufacturing and mining. Applicants must be accepted to an accredited college or university. Applications are available in the guidance office.


Clarence F. Birchmore Memorial Scholarship: (Deadline March 30, 2017) At least two $500 Awards

Awards will be made on the basis of the recipients volunteer service, an essay, plans for the award, educational or career plans, and academic excellence. More information and applications are available in the guidance office.


North Country Community Service Award: (Deadline March 31, 2017) $300 to student - $200 to charity of students choice

To reward those young people who have worked hard to make a significant positive impact in their community we offer the annual North Country Community Service Award to be given to up to 50 eligible graduating seniors each year. Submit a Community Service Award Requestform to be eligible.


Vermont Association of Education Office Professionals Marion T. Wood Scholarship: (Deadline April 1, 2017)

Applicant must intend to continue his/her education in an educational office-related business program and must have completed two or more business education courses (four semesters). Visit the scholarship website for more information and/or an application.


Ray E. Davison Scholarship (ACFA): (Deadline April 1, 2017) Two $500 Awards

In 1991, the Addition County Firefighters Association, Incorporated (ACFA) established an educational scholarship fund to assist students who wish to pursue careers related to the fire service, as well as to assist children of ACFA fire service personnel to pursue postsecondary education. Girls Night Out Productions Scholarship: (Deadline April 10, 2017) $500 - 1 Award

The co-Founders and Board of Directors announce the 2nd annual scholarship to be awarded to a young woman completing high school or technical school and who plans to continue her education in the Performing or Technical Arts. Visit Girls Nite Out for more information and an application.

Amy Bindleglass Memorial Scholarship: (Deadline March 30, 2018)

An essay contest offering one $750 scholarship to a high school junior or senior who writes a well thought out, creative submission on the chosen topic. Essay topic deals with organ donation. For more information visit the Amy Bindleglass Memorial Scholarship website.


Vermont Army National Guard Minuteman Scholarship Program: An opportunity for qualifying students to receive up to four years of college tuition covered by the Minuteman Scholarship. Principals may nominate one female and one male student from each high school to be entered in a statewide competetion for one of these scholarships. Strict criteria include the following:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
  • SAT scores of 1200 combined or comparable ACT scores
  • Participation in at least one extra-curricular activity
  • Must meet Army height and weight standards and pass Army diagnostic APFT
  • Must serve two years in the Vermont Army National Guard for every year of college paid by the scholarship.

Addison County Firefighters Association Scholarship: (Deadline April 1, 2018)

For students in Addison County planning on attending college. Applicants must either plan on a career in the fire service, fire protection or prevention, or be the son or daughter of an ACFA firefighter who has at least five years of service or became disabled or died in the line of duty. Trinity College Class of 1968 Anniversary Gift: Deadline (April 15, 2018) $4,000

This gift is to encourage Catholic women to pursue their undergraduate degree within the community of a Catholic institution of higher education. Application must be a Catholic woman, a high school senior or adult student attending a post secondary school for the first time, be enrolled in an accredited Catholic College or University. Green Mountain Athletic Association Scholarship: (Deadline April 30, 2018)

Requirements: Student has been accepted at an accredited two or four year college, has participated in cross country running and/or track events in grades 11 and 12, has maintained a B average in high school, and shows qualities of good citizenship and sportsmanship. Applications are available ONLY from the GMAA website.


The Virtual High School 2018 Scholarship Program: (Deadline April 30, 2018)

There are three scholarships available. One - $1,000 and Two - $500

To be eligible for one you must show your creative genius. They are looking for innovation and inspiration. Make a video, slide presentation or audio file on "How did your VHS teacher or site coordinator impact your online learning experience?" for a chance to win one of three scholarships. William Randolph Hearst Scholarship: (Deadline October 15, 2018)

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: (Deadline November 6, 2018)

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program: (Deadline December 7, 2018) $2,500

Addison County Maple Sugarmakers Association: (Deadline December 31, 2018)

The purpose of this scholarship is to aid and promote young people's involvement in the maple industry with a yearly scholarship of $500. The use of this scholarship is to promote the maple sugaring industry, encourage entry into the maple industry, sales and marketing of maple or any related agriculture. GE - Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program: (Deadline January 4, 2019)

This national program awards, college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home. They are looking for students with Leadership, Drive, Integrity and Citizenship. Recipients receive $10,000 renewable scholarships - up to $40,000 per student. New England Federal Credit Union Nursing Scholarships: (Deadline February 28, 2019)

Vermont Lions Hart Award: (Deadline March 8, 2019)

A $1000 scholarship for a graduating senior who has a disability and needs financial assistance to attend college. Application is available in the guidance office.


Knights of Columbus Scholastic Achievement Awards: (Deadline March 10, 2019)

Five $1000 scholarships are being offered to relatives of members of the Knights of Columbus. Paper applications available in the Guidance office. Please make a copy!


The George Coleman Scholarship: (Deadline March 15, 2019)

Each year, the New England Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers awards scholarships to three high school graduates who will be enrolling in a NEACRAO member institution for the fall semester of that year. Each high school graduate who is selected is awarded $2,000*. Each recipient of the scholarship is selected from candidates who are recommended by New England secondary school guidance professionals. Elks National Foundation Scholarships:

  • BPOE #916 Scholarship Program: (Deadline March 31, 2019) Provides financial assistance to children and grandchildren of local Elk members. Heritage Family Credit Union Scholarship: (Deadline MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN March 28, 2019)

Mahana Magic Scholarship: (Deadline March 31, 2019, Postmarked by March 28, 2019)

Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2019. Students must have lost a parent to cancer or complications relating from the disease OR have a parent who has survived cancer or is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Vermont EPSCoR CWDD Student Scholarship: (Deadline April 1, 2019) $5000 Scholarship

The VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity (CWDD) works to cultivate and prepare a diverse science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce in Vermont by inspiring students to enter STEM careers. As part of our work we are pleased to award $5,000 scholarships to Native American (including Abenaki) and First Generation college students who enter STEM majors at a Vermont college or university. Vermont Federal Credit Union Scholarship: (Deadline April 8, 2019)

Four $2,000.00 scholarships will be awarded to students that are Vermont Federal Credit Union members. Applications and details may be found at the VT Federal Union website.


Battell Scholarship for Addison County Women: (Deadline April 15, 2019) $500

For female first-year undergraduate students, residing within Addison County. Applications are available in the guidance office.


Buster Brush Memorial Scholarship: (Deadline April 15, 2019)

A $1,000.00 renewable scholarship in memory of the late Buster Brush. Students should demonstrate compassion, a strong work ethic, school spirit, leadership, community service and a desire to challenge ones self. Visit Brush Memorial Scholarship Fund for more information and to apply.


Sons of the American Legion Dennis Comai Scholarship: (Deadline April 15, 2019) - (1) $1,000 Scholarship and (1) $500 Scholarship

Any student planning to attend a trade school or technical college whose grandfather, grandmother, step grandparents, father, stepfather, mother stepmother, adopted parents or grandparents and brothers or sisters are a member of the American Legion Family are welcome to apply. Alice Agney Scholarship for Leadership and Service: (Deadline: Must be received by NOON, Monday, March 18, 2019)

A $2000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior who is selected based on the student's leadership and service to community, academic achievement, and initiative in overcoming a specific challenge. Visit the Vermont Superintendent's website for more information.


Student-View Scholarship Program: (Deadline April 22, 2019) One $4,000 Scholarship, Two $1,000 Scholarships, Ten $500 Scholarships

High school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school are eligible to apply. Simply log onto the student-view website to fill out an application. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications.


Vermont Retail & Grocer Members: (Deadline April 26, 2019)

There are ten scholarship to be awarded. Three $1,500 academic scholarships awarded based on merit and seven $1,500 scholarships awarded based on financial need and merit. For more information and the application visit the VRGA Scholarship website.


Lyric Theatre Company Scholarship: (Deadline April 30, 2019) $1,000

A $1,000 scholarship to an area high school senior to help support their interest in pursuing an education in the performing arts. Paper applications are available in the guidance office or you can visit the Lyric Theatre Company website for an application and more information.


New England Federal Credit Union S.T.E.M Scholarship Program: (Deadline April 30, 2019) Three $3,000 Scholarships

For NEFCU members who are pursuing a degree in the field of Science, Math and/or Technology. For an application and more details visit nefcu.com


Vermont Golf Association Scholarship: (Deadline May 1, 2019)

The Vermont Golf Association Scholarship Fund will annually determine the number and amount of the scholarships which will be presented each year. Click on the VGA Golf Association link for an application and more information.


Winona Smith Scholarship: (Deadline May 1, 2019)

A Winona Smith Scholarship grant for $1000.00 will be awarded to a male or female student in his or her senior year of high school who has demonstrated an interest in civic participation and community service, who has a need for financial aid, and, who is recommended by a teacher. Applications are available in the guidance office and by clicking on the highlighted Winona Smith Scholarship application. Applications should be submitted by email to Dottye Ricks, drrddaerin@gmail.com and must be received no later than May 7, 2017. Please note “scholarship” as the subject of the email.


Vermont State Firefighters Association George S. Gibby Scholarship Fund Deadline June 1, 2019

For children of firefighters or cadet firefighters pursuing a degree in fire science, emergency medicine, or a related field.

The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Unified Scholarship Book is now available in the School Counseling Office. This publication highlights private scholarships available to Vermont students. Seniors may apply for several scholarships with only one application. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2019. Horatio Alger National and State Scholarships: (Deadline October 25, 2019) Range from $10,000 - $25,000

If integrity, determination, and courage describe you - you have what it takes to be a Horatio Alger Scholar. Our scholarships reward students who possess the character to succeed in life. We help students overcome the financial barriers of pursuing higher education. To qualify you must have at least a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college. Hagan Scholarship Foundation: Deadline November 15, 2019 Up to $48,000

Over 300 scholarships will be awarded. Two-thirds of finalists interviewed are awarded scholarships. Each finalist interviewed and not awarded a scholarship will receive $1,000. Funds are provided for travel and lodging to the interview site. This scholarship is for high achieving, self-driven students with high goals.
