McGuire English 10

Having moved to Vermont in 1987, I have adopted this beautiful state as my home.  Shortly after college, I taught in Colorado, and then much later with my family moved to Latvia in eastern Europe to teach in an international school.   I've been teaching at Mt. Abe since 2004, first in the middle school and then moving to the high school.  I love teaching in Mt. Abe  because the students bring energy and curiosity to the classroom and push me to learn and grow.
I co-coach the Mt. Abe Rowing team, a two-season sport that uses the pilot gigs from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum to get out on the water and truly work in collaboration to achieve a goal.  Being on the water is such a fun way to interact with our students!
I live in New Haven with my husband and our two dogs.  We have five children and nine grandchildren.  I love to sail, walk, cycle, read, knit, quilt, and weave and wish we had more hours in the day.
